SW Hackett Lodge No. 574 sponsored the 4th annual Sequoia Elementary School Spelling Bee on Thursday.

Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students participated in the competition with cash prizes awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each class. This year the the three winners were also given a trophy. Dennis Stahr, Master of SW Hackett, handed out checks for $75, $50 and $25 to the children below.

Sequoia Elementary Principal Ryan presided over the event, Sequoia teachers presented words to be spelled, and a full house of family and friends cheered the children on.
