WB Trevor Stewart, Dinner & Oration- Open to all Masons, their families & friends

Title: WB Trevor Stewart, Dinner & Oration- Open to all Masons, their families & friends
Location: San Diego Scottish Rite Center
Description: Brethren,
Most of you know the 2012 California Masonic Symposium was held at the Pasadena Scottish Rite Center on Sunday, June 1, 2012. One of the speakers there was WB Trevor Stewart of the UK (United Kingdom – England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.) WB Stewart is a retired university professor of history and a Past Master of Quatuor Coronati Lodge No. 2076, the premier Lodge of Masonic research in the world.

We in the San Diego area are fortunate in that WB Stewart will be coming down to San Diego on Sunday evening and will be giving a talk on our earliest Masonic ritual on

Monday evening, 2 July at the Scottish Rite Center.

His talk will be open to Masons if all ranks, their families and friends.

We will have dinner at 6:30 PM at a cost of $15 (we will have an upgraded menu.)

After dinner, about 7:15 – 7:30 PM, WB Stewart will speak in the Heald Lodge Room.

Please let me know if you would like to join for dinner so appropriate arrangements may be made with the caterer and the building. If you would just like to join for the presentation you are welcome to do that as well . . . although it would be nice to know if you plan to do that as well.

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear a great speaker. I hope you will be able to take advantage of it.

Tornado and Flood Victim Masonic Relief

Brethren,

Many areas of the Southeast were recently struck by a series of devastating tornadoes. Several Grand Lodges suffered loss of life and enormous property damage. The states hit the hardest were Alabama and Tennessee. As Masons, we are concerned about the well-being of the residents of these communities, particularly our brethren and their families.

Having received a request for relief from their respective Grand Lodges, the Grand Lodge of California has established a relief fund for the disasters in Alabama and Tennessee. All contributions will be sent to the Masonic Service Association of North America (MSA). The MSA will then forward all donations directly to the Grand Lodge F&AM of Alabama and the Grand Lodge F&AM of Tennessee.

If your members, lodge, families, or friends would like to make a contribution, please make your check payable to the MSA Disaster Relief Fund and mail it to:

Grand Lodge of California
Office of Philanthropy
Attn: Denise Avila
1111 California St
San Francisco, CA 94108

Please indicate on your check how you wish for your gift to be distributed (Alabama or Tennessee). If no designation is made the funds will be divided equally between Alabama and Tennessee.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Adam Kendall of the Masonic Service Bureau at 415/292-9137 or akendall@freemason.org.

Please open your hearts to the victims of these disasters, and give what you can to help.

Sincerely and fraternally,

William J. Bray III
Grand Master
